Coronis Finance won the Finance Broker Business Award in Queensland at this year’s MFAA Excellence Awards, after the year focusing on developing a program to introduce new mortgage brokers to the industry with customer experience in mind.

Coronis Financial Services Director Tyson James said how proud he was of the team, their achievements and their dedication to help clients by providing outstanding customer care.

“Winning this award is the culmination of the success our team is achieving,” Mr James said. “I’m very proud of our team for going the extra mile over the past year to help their clients, which is testament to the customer-centric approach we created within the business, as without it, the business can’t grow and move forward.

“We took last year as an opportunity to nurture the relationships with our clients by educating them about the mortgage loan process and what it entails whether it be their first or second mortgage as they need to know the difference between rates, products and lenders.

“We want to set the new standard in the industry and make it a point to make sure all brokers have the wealth of knowledge and experience to service different clients, as each case is unique.

“To grow our business and contribute to the industry, we have implemented a new-to-industry mentor program to onboard new broker mentees, which wouldn’t have been possible without the success our mortgage brokers are achieving in the industry.

“Our in-house mentoring academy ensures we are supporting new broker mentees to become successful, contributing to the overall professionalism of the industry.

“We currently have three accredited mentors who are actively recruiting new mortgage broker mentees. Their role is to guide new brokers all along the way by educating, upskilling and supporting them for the next two years.

“There are 24 mentees in the program at the moment, and this number is actively increasing thanks to our experienced mentors. With 20 mortgage brokers on the team currently, the team size will more than double in the next couple of years with the next wave of mortgage brokers that will graduate from the program.

“The in-house mentoring academy is an incredible opportunity for anyone looking for a career change to become a mortgage broker with an effective model around them. Winning the Finance Broker Business Award validates for us that we are doing the right thing in creating the new industry standard.”
