Coronis wins National Property Management Competition

On Monday, 12 November at PMC, the largest Property Management Conference in the Southern Hemisphere, two of our standout property managers, Peta Hillier and Jessica Calvert were crowned the winners of the 2018 Moot Tribunal Competition.

The competition, which is in its third year invites property managers and agencies from around Australia to nominate, with three finalists announced who then take to the stage at the conference to battle out a mock hearing in front of a panel of three judges.

This year’s judges included Michelle Delany, Rose Kelly and Ashleigh Roberts who were all impressed by the case Ms Hillier and Ms Calvert put forward.

Coronis Area Leader Tracey Kelly said she couldn’t have been prouder of her team.

“The feedback I heard from the judges was that they argued the case extremely well on behalf of the landlord and were outstanding,” Ms Kelly said.

“They were the most professional on the day, had put countless hours into their preparation and commanded the attention of the judges which I knew they would given their years of experience in the industry and dedication to their clients.

“Congratulations Peta and Jessica, you’re both very deserving winners and we love having two standouts in the industry like you on our team.”

Senior Burpengary Property Manager, Peta Hillier said even though it was slightly nerve-racking to get on stage and present their case in front of an audience of 150+, that it had been a highly rewarding experience.

“The whole situation was fictional so we could have a bit of fun with it, but it was a good opportunity to showcase our knowledge on Queensland legislation and answer the adjudicators questions under pressure,” Ms Hillier said.

“Whilst we didn’t get to see the other finalists compete, I heard that they all put forward great arguments so congratulations to Ray White Glen Waverly and Sorensen Real Estate.

“A big thank you to Jodie Stainton, Coronis’s BDM Leader who helped us prepare, we couldn’t have done it without you.”
