A recent rental survey has gathered statistics about the average Australian tenant.

The most crucial priority in a rental home is its accessibility to the tenant's day-to-day needs, according to 33.1 per cent of the respondents. The 18 to 39-year-old participants have said they want to live close to their work, friends, family and the CBD, and they are willing to spend a considerable amount of their earnings to rent a property the right location.

Other interesting statistics show 34.8 per cent of renters in Queensland live with three to four housemates to keep the costs down. While 44 per cent of renters moved in with friends, many also use social media to search for properties and housemates.
