SEQ Beachfront Demand Skyrocketing

Due to high demand and short supply, the price of Gold Coast's most prestigious suburb is only expected to rise even further.

The beach house suburb of Mermaid Beach has risen 63 per cent in the past five years, with large volumes of sales as well as strong prices. At a median house price of $1.4 million, it is Queensland's third-most expensive suburb behind Ascot and New Farm in inner-Brisbane.

Much of the interest is coming from Sydney with buyers moving away from the softening market to a more secure residence.
