The Property Market Is About To Spring Up

Category: Tags :

Spring is the season associated with rejuvenation, growth, and blossoming potential, so for many, it’s the perfect time of the year to start anew. If you’ve been thinking about selling your house, now is an excellent opportunity to put that ‘For Sale’ sign up. To make the best of your property, we rounded-up some tips to prepare your house for the spring sale.

Create a plain canvas
When preparing your house for sale, one of the first things you should do is to turn your space into a plain canvas for potential buyers to paint in their head. Start with packing up personal items around the house like photos, family heirlooms, bright throw blankets, or anything else that you think can detract attention from the house.

It’s time to declutter
Over the time, you have likely accumulated a lot of things without even realising. Whether it be your wardrobe or miscellaneous homewares, in a true Marie Kondo style, ask yourself if the item brings you joy. If it does leave it, if it doesn’t or you haven’t used it for a long time, it’s time to let go and move on. Think of decluttering as a head start in packing, you’ll have less to pack when it’s time for you to move out!

Refresh your house with a spring clean
Seasonal cleaning is a major chore, but the one that has to be done to make your house shining, shimmering and splendid. Decluttering is the first step to cleaning, the second step is to carefully clean your house from counters, shelves, to stubborn corners, and so forth. You can, of course, get help from a professional service too if that’s your preference.

Basic fixer-upper
Attend each corner of your property to analyse where you might need to do a little bit of fixer-upper. Once your house is decluttered and cleaned, you can get a glimpse of whether it needs some basic maintenance like a fresh coat of paint, new lightbulbs, or updated fixtures.

Prepare yourself for a new sanctuary
It can be difficult to let go but it’s also important remember that your home isn’t just your current residence, home can be wherever you are. While it’s understandable to be sentimental from the memories you’ve associated with your house, think of all the beautiful memories you will make at your new home.
